WHAT DOES A DOULA DO??

Folks often wonder what exactly it is that we do as doulas. The goal overall is to make the experience sweeter, help you process what you are thinking and feeling in the moment, so you can make the right decisions for your family; insure that everyone on your team is nourished and rested and you all feel supported throughout your pregnancy and parenting journey. I've had a hard time capturing all that we actually do, so I drafted a list of items we often end up doing for clients. Here are few tangible tasks your doula might do for you:

I'm back!

And refreshed, rested, and grounded in that barefoot in a creek sort of way.

This doula took some much deserved time away from the emails, the oncall life and sweet babes and went on a 14 day camping/road trip through 10 national forests and 5 states. We drove up sketchy, rocky, cliff kissing roads, (x . x), up and down winding mountain passes, through forests and pairies, past lava lumps and cumulous clumps. I dipped in Washington Lakes, Idaho rivers and Montana creeks, sampled beers from every place we moseyed past. And it even snowed! (Junuary is not just for Seattle, I guess). It was glorious. We live on a gold mine of beauty here in the PNW and I haven’t had a chance to slip away and sink into it in so long. It was the perfect juicy feast for my wander-lusting soul.

But now I’m back and oh-so-excited to greet the babes that are preparing to enter this world in the time when the sun shines brightest! (C’mon Summer!) Send a note to set up a time to chat! I’m currently accepting clients for the fall and winter 2019!
