Hello there! Welcome. I am a Certified Birth Doula (DONA) and an INNATE Certified Postpartum Care Provider. I work with families throughout the Greater Seattle Area to prepare for the experience of childbirth and  transition of parenthood.

I have long loved working with children and mothers and have been fascinated by birth since I was a babe. If I had known more about midwifery when I started my formal education, I might have pursued that path. As it is, the road which leads us is a winding and twisting one, with beautiful vistas. For that, I have a background in writing, photography and teaching, and a strong interest in music, travel, other cultures, and nutritious food.

While pursuing my B.A., I began my first experience working  directly with young mothers as a volunteer with the YWCA Mentoring Mothers Program. There I established my desire to be a resource and support for new mothers. When I moved to Seattle in 2007, I began supporting families throughout the Puget Sound Area as a Nanny and Postpartum Doula.

In February of 2014, I undertook my DONA Birth Doula training at the Simkin Center for Allied Birth Vocations. I began my path supporting other doulas and volunteering through Open Arms Perinatal Services.  In the Winter of 2016, I took my Neonatal Resuscitation with Karen Strange and in the spring of 2017, I began my education of the clinical side of birth by completing Birth Assistant Certification with Northwest Birth Assistants.   I find the more I learn about birth, the more areas I want to explore.

My time as a birth doula has cemented that this work is my path.  When mothers are supported, babies are supported and so forth and communities thrive.  My latest pursuit has been to learn more ways to support postpartum woman and her needs.  In this quest I discovered the teachings  and wisdom of Rachelle Garcia Seliga's Innate Traditions Postpartum Training.  I am so excited to weave her words and wisdom into my current practice.

I have experience with births in hospitals, birth centers and homes, medicated and natural. Your body, your birth.
